Girl Time – Discover Today, Design Your Tomorrow

Join in the fun at Girl Time, a special STEM day designed for girls and their families!  

Saturday, September 21 | 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.

At Girl Time you’ll learn about STEM from women engineers and scientists, have fun exploring with hands-on activities and demos, and meet girls involved in STEM activities and young women studying STEM fields. It’s a great day to get inspired and start changing the world!

With 12 brand new partners and lots of returning fan favorites, this is the biggest Girl Time ever! Here are just a few of the fantastic partner activities you’ll experience:

  • Explore physics with balloons, vacuums, and other household items
  • Go inside a building’s virtual HVAC to see what’s behind the walls
  • Build and test skyscrapers under earthquake conditions
  • Learn about properties of concrete and make your own slime
  • Race a computer
  • Create bridges with marshmallows and spaghetti
  • Try different instruments to learn about sound waves and acoustics
  • Design and test a magnet-detection device
  • Make and test straw rockets and mini-catapults
  • Get coding with games and simple programming
  • Create your own flashlight
  • Explore medical technology and biology
  • And more!

Admission price for Girl Time:

Free for members.
Advance Tickets: $9  •  Day of Event: $12

Children must be accompanied by an adult. Boys are also welcome.

Girl Time Mini Workshops

Advance ticket holders and members get exclusive access to two FREE mini workshops at Girl Time. Spots are limited, and are available on a first come, first served basis. Registration is required. Ticket holders and members will receive an email with the sign up link.

Raspberry Pi Mini Workshop: Explore computer programming using a simple Raspberry Pi computer that fits in the palm of your hand. Complete challenges using Python programming language.

Ear Harps Mini Workshop: Build an ear harp out of wood, nails, and rubber bands. Then use it to make music only the player can hear.
