The Works Museum is all about hands-on engineering for kids ages 5-12 and their families. When you visit The Works Museum, you’ll dig into the basics of engineering, science, and technology with our interactive experiences and design challenges. Kids touch, try, and build as they explore how things work – all in the Museum’s open floor plan that makes it easy to supervise your creative explorers.

Admission

Adults and children (ages 2 and up): $13 per person
Museum members: Free with digital member card and photo ID
Can't find your digital card? Send an email to memberships@theworks.org to request a new one.
Children under 2: Free

The Museum Gallery and any drop-in events occurring during your visit are included in your admission. Children under 16 must be accompanied by chaperone of 18+.

Accessibility

Everyone can engineer. At The Works Museum, we aim to make our facility welcoming to all visitors. If you have questions or needs not addressed here, please feel free to contact us in advance of your visit at info@theworks.org or by calling us at 952-888-4262. 

Museum Entrance
The Works Museum’s entrance is on the west side of the building, toward the south corner. The entrance has automatic doors and a wheelchair accessible ramp.

Inside the Museum
Our exhibits, classrooms, and restrooms are all on one level. There are two accessible family restrooms equipped with changing tables.

Parking
Parking is always free at The Works Museum. Accessible parking spaces are available near the Museum entrance and on the north side of the building. Visitors with mobility concerns may be dropped off just outside the Museum entrance, in the bus loading zone.

Public transit

Camps. Summer and school break STEM camps for kids at The Works Museum are ideal for children ages 5-12 who love to explore, discover, design, and build. In our STEM camps, children explore engineering, science, technology, and math in a kid-centered way. Our expert educators encourage exploration and work with each child to make his or her experience engaging and fun.

Experience Gallery. Our open-format Experience Gallery is designed for young engineers to explore at their own pace with hands-on activities. Kids can build with K’Nex, test out a giant kaleidoscope, design sturdy structures, and so much more!
