If you’ve been to The Works Museum recently, you probably noticed that some spaces in the building are under construction. We’re excited to share that these are just the first stages of a renovated museum experience!
The next phase of construction — which includes the museum floor — is now confirmed for summer 2022. May 27 will be the last day to visit the museum floor before renovations begin, and we expect construction to last through October. During this time we will not be open for public visits to the gallery, and we will not host birthday parties. However, we will still offer our full schedule of summer camps, as camp spaces will not be impacted. We will also continue offering workshops at schools and childcare centers.
So why are we renovating? In recent years, the way we use our space has changed. Year after year, we are bringing more programs out into the community, and requiring less space here at the museum. Renovating will allow us to create a more impactful experience for visitors, while also reducing our footprint as we grow alongside our community.
We are so excited about these upcoming changes, and we’ll be sharing more via email and social media as the project gets underway. In the meantime if you’d like to visit The Works Museum as it is currently, please stop by for one more visit! Saturday, April 23 is a great opportunity to do so, as we’re hosting our annual Tech Fest family event. Space is limited, so we encourage families to pre-purchase their tickets online.
