Donate supplies
We need lots of simple household supplies to fuel the creativity and inventions in our workshops. If you have access to company-store discounted items, can buy them in bulk, or have them around your house and want to share, you can support us through these in-kind donations:
The following supplies can be brought to our front desk during our open hours:
- Marbles
- AA batteries
- White cardstock
- CDs or DVDs (new or used; scratched is fine)
- LEGOs and other building toys
- Wood beads or spools
- Zip-top bags, all sizes
- Balloons
- Colored paper
- Scotch tape refills
- Scraps of soft wood (mostly Pine, but will accept Birch)
- Toilet paper, paper towel, and wrap (foil, plastic, waxed paper) rolls
- 35mm film canisters
- Various tools we could use with children (7oz hammers are best, rubber mallets, screwdrivers, etc)
- Fabric scraps
- Decorative crafting items (buttons, ribbons, stickers, scrapbooking papers, etc)
- Baby dolls
- Pringles cans
- Functioning incandescent decoration lights
- Mechanical or electronic toys (working or not)
- Any tiny, odd plastic or wood pieces that can be used in projects (clean, unusual, up to the size of a toaster)

We use certain old machines for Tech Take-Apart, a hands-on activity which allows kids to dismantle and learn about “the guts” of machines and electronics. We cannot accept monitors, televisions, or inkjet printers, scanners, copiers, laptops, or kitchen appliances.
We accept donations of the following equipment during our open hours:
- Computers (CPUs)
- Stereo equipment
- CD and DVD players
- Tape recorders, players, and VCRs
- Hard drives
- Desk phones
- Networking equipment (network switches, routers, servers)
- Walkmans and other portable and handheld electronics
- Electronic toys (w/speakers, keyboard, etc.)
