Getting Excited about Engineering

This blog post was contributed by Anna Bosak from H.B. Fuller. Thank you Anna!

Since 1887, H.B. Fuller has been a leading global adhesives provider, focused on perfecting adhesives, sealants, and other specialty chemical products. Today, our employees are using their passion for science, engineering, and innovation to create new adhesives that help to address some of the biggest issues facing the world. For example, H.B. Fuller’s specialized adhesives for food packaging help foods stay fresh longer, reducing food waste. Our adhesive solutions for the solar industry support the growth of clean energy. Our expertise in adhesives for the medical device industry plays a role in improving and saving patient lives.

Inspiring the next generation of engineers

As a company built on scientific innovations, H.B. Fuller recognizes the critical importance of STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) education, and we are committed to doing our part to ensure that today’s students are prepared to succeed in school and career. Many of our employees have clear memories of a childhood moment when they realized how exciting science and engineering could be. Through the H.B. Fuller Company Foundation, we are able to support nonprofits that share our dedication to inspiring the next generation of engineers and innovators – like The Works Museum. This summer, we are proud to sponsor the Pop-Up Engineering series, designed to engage visitors in new engineering challenges.

By supporting Pop-Up Engineering, H.B. Fuller is hoping to inspire visitors to The Works Museum to not only have fun with engineering, but to consider the possibility of a STEM career. From designing giant marble runs, to robotics and coding challenges, to experimenting with buoyancy, we can’t wait to see all of the hands-on activities that will be part of Pop-Up Engineering.

Giving Back

Since 1986, H.B. Fuller has been supporting communities around the world where our employees live and work through the H.B. Fuller Company Foundation. Each year, H.B. Fuller and our employees give approximately $1.5 million to support STEM education and youth leadership development, as well as other causes selected by employees. Philanthropic giving is just one of the ways H.B. Fuller supports our communities around the world. Learn more about other ways we give back by following #HBFullerCares on social media and by visiting www.hbfuller.com/community.
